I have been working over the last twenty years in a mixture of town and village parishes around Chippenham.  As well as Vicar of the Marshfield Benefice, I have the extra responsibilities of Area Dean for Chippenham. Here in the village I’m a Foundation Governor for Marshfield School and a Trustee of both the Almshouses and Marshfield Combined Charities.  Our grown up children are mostly scattered around the UK and one son and his family are in Borneo. We love spending time with any of them when opportunity allows, but also love living in Marshfield and ministering around the four communities in our Benefice: Marshfield, Cold Ashton, Tormarton and West Littleton.

I have lived and worshipped in Marshfield for over 45 years.  Chris and I have two children and when they were young I used to help with Sunday School, Playgroup and Brownies.  I’ve also been an active member of the Marshfield Players since their inception in 1976 and have been responsible for the production of several pantomimes and plays.  I have always been involved in the life of the parish and Deanery, being Lay Chair of the Deanery for 12 years and a member of Bishop’s Council.  I was licensed as a Reader (Lay Minister) in October 2006, a role I love.

Kate Precious (PCC Secretary)

Kate moved to Marshfield with her two daughters in 2017, having previously lived in Oxfordshire, where she grew up singing in the choir at her village church. She teaches Politics and Social Policy at the University of Bath, having completed a PhD on lobbying strategies for marginalised groups, and also has an expertise in special education. In addition to sitting on the PCC and serving as PCC Secretary, Kate is also one of our Deanery Synod representatives.
