With the growing popularity of tracing family histories we sometimes get enquiries relating to historical records of births, marriages and deaths. Our churches mostly hold the current working copies of registers relating to these events as completed registers are not retained by the churches but sent to the local record’s office. However there are some photocopied entries of earlier entries in Marshfield church safe so an appointment would need to be made to look at these and there is a statutory charge for the time spent on searches of our registers!

At the back of church in the rack there is a black A4 file containing a plan of the South Churchyard and a list of the inscriptions on the graves, many of which are increasingly illegible – so this document is very helpful.
